3 Steps to Becoming a Home Inspector in New York

Becoming a home inspector in New York is a straightforward process and takes three steps:

  1. Complete 100 hours of New York approved home inspector education. ICA offers this through a live online webinar class.  Dates are posted below.
  2. Attend 40 hours of NYDOS approved field training. We offer this training in several locations all throughout the state.
  3. Take and pass the NYS written examination, for which our course fully prepares you.

ICA’s New York home inspection training course is fully approved by the New York Department of State (NYDOS).

Students can choose to purchase the webinar and field training separately but both must be completed to obtain a New York home inspector license.

New York Home Inspector Night Training Course Rotation

You must complete all four modules to receive credit. You can start on the first day of any Module of your choice. Once you enroll in the rotation, you will be emailed access before the start of each module session. Our staff will track your progress as you attend.
